Bio
Akbar is an Investor Relations Analyst in the Product Specialist team. He joined Apax in 2026 and is based in London.
Prior to joining Apax, Akbar was an Investment Analyst at Lane Clark & Peacock, where he advised UK pension scheme clients on investment strategy, asset allocation and manager oversight across public and private markets. This gave him experience in how institutional investors assess long-term capital, risk and manager relationships.
Akbar holds an MA (Hons) in Economics with Finance from the University of Edinburgh and is a CFA charterholder.

Akbar's Story
Akbar was drawn to Apax by the chance to work closer to the businesses, investors and decisions that shape private markets. He enjoys the part of investor relations that blends technical detail with clear communication and earning trust - turning a complicated question into an answer someone can use. Outside work he seeks out less-travelled countries such as Kazakhstan and Bosnia, often planning his trips around the food as much as the destination.
