Friends of the Children NY
Friends of the Children New York pairs children facing significant adversity with a paid, professional mentor (“Friend”) from early childhood through high school and into adulthood (12+ years). Mentors provide consistent, long-term support focused on education, life skills, and emotional development, while also engaging caregivers through a two-generation model. By building stable relationships and addressing systemic barriers, the program aims to improve outcomes in graduation, employment, and well-being, helping young people transition successfully into adulthood.
