AMI, advised by Apax Partners, closes an Israeli mid-market buyout fund

1 December 2015

AMI Opportunities L.P. (AMI), advised by Apax Partners LLP, a leading global private equity firm, today announced its successful final close at the hard cap of $500m. AMI is an inaugural buyout fund for middle market companies that are either based in Israel or have a significant Israeli connection.

AMI’s investment focus will largely be buyouts and control transactions, although AMI’s investment criteria can also include minority equity investments and debt investments.

AMI’s portfolio already includes two deals closed in 2015:

-        Schulz Catering, a leading caterer of the business sector in Israel; and

-        Zap Group, the leading consumer internet business in Israel which runs both the largest digital yellow pages and the largest online price comparison site.

"We are pleased to announce today the final close of AMI and would like to thank AMI's existing and new investors for their support and confidence in this fund and in the Apax team," said Zehavit Cohen, Office Head of Apax Partners Israel Ltd. "It is a clear endorsement of Apax's track record in Israel that we exceeded the $300m initially sought and that about half of the capital committed came from Israeli investors.”

Similar to other funds advised by Apax Partners, AMI will focus on four sectors: Tech and Telco, Services, Healthcare and Consumer.
