Living our values

“I'm continually moved and impressed by the breadth of my colleagues' charitable commitments and proud of the work we do across the Firm globally through the Apax Foundation to help communities as diverse as refugees in London, students from disadvantaged backgrounds in New York, and impoverished women in rural Maharasthra, with a common goal: opening up opportunities for economic and social advancement. 'Learn, adapt and grow' is core to the Firm's culture, and our Foundation aims to remove the impediments to growth in impoverished communities and enable them to fulfil their potential.”

Kate's Story

Kate's grandfather was the son of non-English-speaking immigrants, growing up in a family of nine living in three rooms in the poorest part of London. He was clever, hard-working and - crucially - had access to a good education which enabled him to spring the family in one generation from poverty to comfort. Her family background drives Kate's deep interest in social mobility. Social mobility resonates with Apax's meritocratic culture and is one of the main focuses of the Apax Foundation's grants programme.
