Experience and qualifications
Walter joined Apax in 2012 to lead our efforts in Brazil and
South America and to establish Apax's office in Sao Paulo in the
near future.
Prior to joining Apax, Walter served as Executive Vice President
and Co-Head of Wholesale Banking at Banco Votorantim, where he was
responsible for Commercial Banking and Asset Management among other
areas. Prior to this, Walter was a Partner and Managing
Director of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he worked for
13 years with many of Brazil's largest companies across a variety
of industries - most recently as Head of BCG Brazil and member of
the global leadership group of BCG's Corporate Development area
(which includes Private Equity) and Financial Services. Walter
began his career in the Corporate Banking Group at Citibank N.A. in
Brazil.
Walter holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a degree in
Business Administration from FGV - Fundação Getúlio Vargas in
Brazil, where he graduated first in his class. He is a member of
the Board of Directors of Brazilian NGOs Instituto Ayrton Senna and
IDIS.
