Top Right Group agrees to sell Infrastructure Journal to Euromoney Institutional Investor

15 October 2013

Top Right Group today announced it has entered an agreement to sell Infrastructure Journal to Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC for £12.5m. Detailed terms of the deal were not revealed.

IJ is an online subscription information service providing news, insight and analysis for clients involved in planning and financing infrastructure projects around the world.

Duncan Painter, CEO Top Right Group, said: "IJ is well respected in its sector and delivers valuable insight and expertise to its customers. The skill of the team, investment in content and the launch of new topical forums each year have kept the brand ahead and we are delighted that the IJ name will continue in the marketplace. We believe Euromoney Institutional Investor will be a good long term home for the brand and we wish the business every success in the future."

Richard Ensor, Chairman, Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, added: "Infrastructure Journal is a business we have long admired and we are delighted that is now part of our stable of global brands. With an estimated 57 trillion dollars of investment into infrastructure projects required around the world by 2030, we believe this part of the business-to-business information sector offers attractive growth fundamentals. Euromoney aims to create a comprehensive market-leading infrastructure information provider by combining under the Infrastructure Journal brand the deals database and news coverage of Infrastructure Journal and the deals analysis, awards and conferences of Project Finance, a business that we have owned for 25 years."

Notes to Editors

IJ was purchased in 2007 and has been a consistent cash generator. TRG believe the price offered is beyond what could be generated in the medium term should IJ have stayed within its portfolio of assets.

The value released by this sale will be reinvested back into the core business lines as we continue to position ourselves for sustainable, top line growth, particularly internationally.
