1 November 2012
The TriZetto Group, Inc., has named Jeffrey Rose, M.D., chief
medical information officer of its physician markets business unit,
a new position that will help TriZetto serve its growing provider
client base and support the company's innovative payer-provider
connectivity solutions. Dr. Rose will help enhance the
organizations' provider product offerings based on his in-depth
knowledge of health information technology and clinician needs.
"TriZetto is focused on working with our clients to drive lower
costs, better outcomes and better patient care," said Chris Hunter,
TriZetto's senior vice president and physician markets president.
"Dr. Rose's longstanding leadership in advancing health information
technology and industry collaboration brings us unique insights
that will help us advance solutions that serve all healthcare
constituents."
"As TriZetto takes a leading role in enabling providers to
deliver high-quality, cost-effective care, Dr. Rose's expertise and
will be a huge differentiator for TriZetto," said Jeff Rideout,
M.D., senior vice president and chief medical officer at TriZetto.
"Providers and payers expect and demand the experience and
credibility Dr. Rose brings to TriZetto and its solution set."
Prior to joining TriZetto, Dr. Rose served as vice president of
clinical excellence and informatics at Ascension Health, the
nation's largest nonprofit health system. In this role, he focused
on knowledge management and health information technology for the
system, ranging from electronic health records deployment and
health information exchange initiatives to enterprise resource
planning and clinical data analytics. In addition, he launched the
collaborative creation of provider-focused clinical content across
multiple care-delivery systems to improve care quality and
appropriately narrow practice variation through shared best
practices.
He also served as chief medical officer at Cerner Corporation
and Health Language, Inc. and authored the book "Medicine and the
Information Age," which addressed critical issues in medical
practice relative to information technology. For the past two
years, Modern Healthcare magazine has named Dr. Rose one
of the top 25 clinical informaticists in the United States for his
excellence in using patient care data to improve both the clinical
and financial performance of healthcare organizations.
