Orange ranks among the best employers in French-speaking Switzerland
11 April 2012
Orange achieved the highest rating in the large company category
in the "Best Employer" survey conducted by the business magazine
Bilan. It distinguished itself particularly in the fields of equal
rights, development and training, and pensions.
Every year, the business magazine Bilan rates the best employers
in French-speaking Switzerland based on a comprehensive survey. The
results published in the current edition of Bilan under the
headline "Les 30 meilleurs employeurs romands." [The 30 Top
Employers in Romandy] show Orange in the top spot in the category
for big companies with over 500 employees - ahead of Swisscom and
Coop. Taking all six categories together, Orange ranked sixth out
of a total of 88 companies and public institutions.
A step ahead in training and equal rights
Orange performed exceptionally well in terms of development and
training, pensions, and promotion of equal rights, achieving first
place in all these areas. In the first category, the above-average
number of training days per year and employee received particular
praise. In terms of equality, Orange was able to impress with a
specific program designed for the advancement of women in
management positions and its commitment to non-familial
childcare.
On the subject of childcare, Orange has recently entered into a
new cooperation with the company familienservice. All Orange
employees are now able to use the advisory and agency services
offered by familienservice as regards childcare throughout
Switzerland. Orange will cover the costs of the service for its
employees.
Survey evaluation method
Bilan worked closely with the organisation HKP for this year's
survey carried out in French-speaking Switzerland (the fourth
overall). The assessment method was further refined compared with
previous years. The companies surveyed each received a
questionnaire, with 63 questions covering eleven fields. Orange
scored 694 points out of a maximum of 1000. The companies were
divided into six categories for the evaluation. In total, 88
companies and public entities with around 256,000 employees from
French-speaking Switzerland took part in the survey.
